~The best holidays and weekends are with national traditions. ~
Nowadays, there is a great number of exciting events and celebrations which take place in each country per year. Many people claim that only holidays and weekends based on national traditions can be named the best, while others disagree with the statement above.
I have some reasons to support the first viewpoint. First of all, such celebrations help to learn more about your culture. For example, in Russia, there is a spring holiday Maslenitsa which takes roots in ancients times when Russians prevented pagan gods. Furthermore, the more traditions the more enjoyable activities. Continuing to speak about Maslenitsa, it longs a week, each day of which has a special name like Forgiven Sunday. During the week, people cook and eat a lot of pancakes, visit fairs with folk concerts, outdoor traditional games and funs. At the end of this holiday people burn in effigy of winter.
Nevertheless, some consider that holidays came from other countries are greater than national ones. In their opinion, traditions are useless and pointless activities, it is possible to enjoy weekends without customs.
From my point of view, traditions are not meaningless and national holidays unit people. For instance, tradition events are the only opportunity to get together for some families.
All things considered, so many men so many minds. Importance of customs and holidays is still to be discussed. I bet that if we maintain our traditions we preserve national history and culture.
